My Nana was the Eldest of 6 children, and lived her younger days in Cambuslang Scotland, with her Mother & father Henry and Annie. It must have been devastating times for Nana, her mother Annie died in 1939 and Nana's grandmother died around 1938. I cannot imagine how hard times where back, first losing your grandmother, then your mother, and you were about to Marry my granddad Charlie in 1940, it must have been heart wrenching for you Nana. My nana Married my granddad and lived in the north east, Aunty Phena, Aunty Nancy, Aunty Rea & uncle William and granddad Henry all remained in Huddersfield, all I know is that after grandma Annie died, granddad Henry came to England with you all. I look back and see such a wonderful woman full of love suffered such heart wrenching losses, and life was unfair to you,. Aunty Nancy Married uncle Les , Aunty Phena was married to Uncle Donald, and emigrated to Australia with their boys, and this is all I had of you & your family,,, I guess you know the rest, and so glad you stayed with me, after I got angry with the lord & did not visit his house anymore, for taking you away from me, I hope you forgive me, I know the lord understands, I asked forgiveness and a blessing. Nana you were a devout roman catholic as was your family, and I hope you have the best Angels seat, because he took you early from all who love you, poor gramps every year at Christmas use to say " Ee chicken, I am weary", he was lost in this world without you, every Christmas his pain was there to see, he just lived to be with you.
